Irfan Pathan did wonders in the first match of Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024.
Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024 has started. In the first match of the tournament, the teams of Konark Suryas Odisha (KSO) and Manipal Tigers (MT) were face to face. It was a low scoring match. Under the captaincy of Irfan Pathan, Konark Suryas registered a thrilling win by 2 runs. Captain Irfan registered a thrilling win in the last over. KNSO scored 104/9 while batting first.
In response to this target, the Bhajji-led Manipal Tigers team could only score 102 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Former Indian all-rounder Irfan did not bowl till the 19th over in this match. He bowled the 20th over and played a key role in the team’s victory.

Irfan defended 12 runs in the last over and took a wicket. When he came to bowl, Anureet Singh and Obus Pienaar were batting at the crease. Irfan started the last over with a wide. After that Anureet hit a six and after this Konark’s team looked a bit under pressure. However, Irfan showed patience after this and gave only one run on the second ball.

Pienaar did not score any run on the third ball. Pienaar took a single on the fourth and Anureet on the fifth ball. MT needed three runs to win on the last ball and Irfan dismissed Pienaar. He gave a total of 10 runs in this over.
Poor performance of Manipal Tigers batsmen
MT had a very bad start while chasing the target in this match. Openers Robin Uthappa and Solomon Mire could not even open their account. Manoj Tiwary (2), Saurabh Tiwary (5) and Angelo Perera (5) also failed to play a big innings. Manipal Tigers lost five wickets after scoring just 21 runs. Asela Gunaratne contributed 13 runs in this.
However, in the end, Daniel Christian scored 30 runs in 29 balls with the help of 2 fours while Pienaar scored 34 runs in 24 balls with the help of two sixes. Anureet remained unbeaten after scoring 9 runs. Earlier, Irfan (18 runs in 23 balls, three fours) scored the highest runs for KNSO.
