Pakistan has unveiled a formidable 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, to be led by captain Salman Ali Agha. All matches will take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, with the full schedule to be announced shortly.
Notably, star players Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan have been rested for the series. However, the squad features Sahibzada Farhan, who holds the world record for the most T20I centuries in a calendar year, and Saim Ayub, who returns to international cricket after missing the Champions Trophy due to injury.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has picked the squad based on performances in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), which concludes with the final on May 25. The series against Bangladesh will follow shortly after.
New Coach’s First Assignment Pakistan

This series marks the debut of Pakistan’s newly appointed head coach, Mike Hesson.
Originally, Bangladesh was scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is under the Future Tours Programme (FTP). However, both boards agreed to shift focus to five T20Is to better prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The initial plan was to begin the series on May 25 and conclude by June 3, with matches in Lahore and Faisalabad. However, due to military tensions between India and Pakistan, the PSL was postponed, leading to a delay in the Bangladesh series. As a result, the revised schedule will now feature all matches in Lahore for security reasons.
