After losing T20 Series, Liton said 'We need to improve our bowling skills'

Liton Das’s tenure as captain has been far from successful. Under his leadership, Bangladesh suffered a 2-1 defeat against a team like the UAE in Sharjah, followed by a 3-0 whitewash in Pakistan. Overall, Bangladesh has lost five out of six matches under Liton’s captaincy, with just one win.

In the last match, despite posting a competitive total of 196 runs, Bangladesh failed to defend it, losing to Pakistan due to Mohammad Haris’s blistering century. Captain Liton pointed fingers at the team’s bowling and fielding as the primary reasons for the defeat.

During the post-match presentation, Liton openly admitted, “We didn’t bowl well in the last two matches, and our fielding was also below standard.” Regarding batting, he said, “But we batted well on this pitch (in the last match).”

He emphasized the need for bowlers to improve, stating, “It was a good wicket (in Lahore), but on such surfaces, we must learn how to bowl against different kinds of batters and strategize accordingly.”

Liton did, however, praise Tanjid Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon, saying, “On a positive note, Emon and Tanjid batted really well, and most of the boys tried to play with intent.”

Expressing regret to the fans, Liton said, “The crowd was amazing they supported both teams brilliantly. I apologize to the Bangladesh fans for not winning a single match, but hopefully, we can bounce back stronger.”
