‘You are not stupid, I am stupid’ – when MS Dhoni got angry at Deepak Chahar

Mohit Sharma, who has played for Chennai Super Kings, has narrated a funny anecdote about Dhoni’s anger.

Former Team India captain MS Dhoni is known for his calm and restrained behavior on the field. However, there have been some occasions when the former Indian captain has lost his temper and expressed his anger fiercely. Former CSK fast bowler Mohit Sharma has revealed about one such incident, when Deepak Chahar was scolded by MS Dhoni.

While talking on YouTube channel 2 Slaggers

Mohit Sharma, while talking on YouTube channel 2 Slaggers, told that Deepak Chahar did not follow Dhoni’s advice in IPL 2019. Due to this he had to face Dhoni’s anger. He told that Dhoni had asked Chahar not to bowl a knuckle ball in a particular match, because there was a lot of sweat due to the heat, due to which the ball was slipping from the hand.

Mohit Sharma had said, “In 2019 we were playing in Chennai. It was very hot and humid. Deepak Chahar bowled a knuckle ball, which became a full toss. Mahi bhai told him not to bowl the knuckle ball. After a few balls, he once again bowled a knuckle ball, which was a high full-toss that went over the batsman’s head.”

The former fast bowler further said, ‘Mahi bhai came to him, put his hand on Deepak’s shoulder, talked to him a bit and went back. Obviously we didn’t know and so when the match was over, we asked what happened? He said, ‘You know what he said? He said some nice things (possibly abuses), and then he said ‘Stupid tu nahi hai, idiot main hun. So this is a story that we always remember.’

Mohit Sharma has played for CSK for 4 years. Earlier, he served for the yellow jersey from 2013 to 2015. After this, Mohit also played for Chennai Super Kings in 2019. While playing for CSK, Mohit has taken 57 wickets. However, currently Mohit Sharma is a part of Gujarat Titans and he has been performing brilliantly for this team for 3 years.
