Bangladesh Announce Preliminary Squad for Asia Cup 2025

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) officially released the schedule for the Asia Cup on July 26, confirming that the tournament would be hosted in the United Arab Emirates. Soon after, the match timings and venues for each fixture were also disclosed.

On Monday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 25-member preliminary squad for the tournament, naming Liton Das as the team captain. The squad also features Soumya Sarkar and Nazmul Hossain Shanto among others.

Bangladesh is set to play all three of its group-stage matches at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The Asia Cup is scheduled to begin on September 9, with the final to be held on September 28.

Eight teams will compete in the tournament, divided into two groups. Bangladesh has been placed in Group ‘B’ alongside Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. All six matches of this group will be played in Abu Dhabi.
