The Bangladesh national cricket team has just returned from their successful tour of Sri Lanka, but there’s no time to rest. In less than 24 hours, they’ll be back on the field for a three-match T20I series against Pakistan.
The series kicks off on July 20, with the next two matches scheduled for July 22 and July 24. All three games will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur and will start at 6:00 PM local time.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 16-member squad, retaining the same players from the recently concluded series against Sri Lanka. The decision reflects the team’s strong performance, having secured their first-ever T20I series win on Sri Lankan soil.
Pakistan, however, arrives without some of their biggest names Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are all absent. The team is being captained by Salman Ali Agha. This series, jointly arranged by the BCB and PCB, coincides with the ICC Champions Trophy window, and serves as a follow-up to the previous T20 series held in Pakistan, where Bangladesh lost 3-0 to the same Pakistan side.
