On Friday, Scotland scored 369 runs Against Netherland the fifth-highest ODI total by an associate team thanks to George Munsey’s sensational 191 off 150 balls in a World Cup League-2 tri-series final in Dundee. In modern cricket’s aggressive era, both ODI and Test formats have seen significant transformations. Teams have now posted 400+ scores in ODIs 28 times, with even ICC associate nations closing in.
Munsey’s innings, featuring 14 fours and 11 sixes, became the highest individual score by any associate nation batter in ODIs. He narrowly missed becoming the first double centurion from an associate nation. Captain Matthew Cross added a valuable 59 as Scotland posted 369/6. For the Netherlands, Aryan Dutt and Mikael Levitt took two wickets each.
Scotland – 369/6
Netherland 374/6

But the match took a historic turn as the Netherlands chased down the massive target setting a new world record for the highest successful ODI chase by an associate nation. Led by Max O’Dowd’s 158 off 130 balls (12 fours, 4 sixes), supported by Nidamanuru (51), Kroes (50), and Levitt (44), the Dutch reached the target with 4 balls and 4 wickets to spare. Safyaan Sharif took 3 wickets for Scotland.
This successful chase (370) ranks as the third-highest in ODI history overall. Only South Africa have chased more 438 vs Australia in 2006 and 372 against them in 2016. Interestingly, the Netherlands once nearly chased 374 against the West Indies, ending in a tie.
